I guess my artblock went away for these past few hours .. lol

only thanks to :iconjullelin: who has been uploading so very many traditional pieces lately and it just motivated me so much .. I HAD to try XD

so yep, lines and "shading" were done traditional, I was looking at a few pics to get the poses right (not sure I managed lol), and inked with a blue ball-point pen. Took a picture of it, desaturated it in SAI, added base colours, a little more shading and added a texture overlay. Oh and they have been drawn on individual sheets of paper, since I had to horizontally flip two of them, because I can only draw objects facing to left :lmao:

I guess I`m fine with this XD could be better, could be worse. I mean .. at least I drew .. something ...



also, I didn`t originally plan to make Cookie THIS evil ... but I like to screw up Evy`s life XD

Cookie just had another fierce attack towards Evy, snapping her teeth viciously at the saddle, and narrowly missing it just due to having restricted movement by the ropes.

"What the fuck Cookie, this is like .. the 7th time!"

The mare just looked at her, ears laid sharply back and her mouth still open, bloodthirsty teeth still exposed.

"Seriously girl, I think that even though you`re freaking huge, your character is starting to outgrow you ..."

The mare snorted, looking at Evy like she wanted to see her burn alive XD

"Gawd what did I ever do to you? We raised you nicely, with all the awesome treats and sh*ts you could ever imagine ... I spent half of every week just tending to you. And THIS is how you repay me?!"

Another snort, and another snap towards Evy followed the little monologue.

"Well fuck you too, horse."

Evy made a large circle to stay out of range of Cookie`s teeth, and stepped towards her side, lifting the saddle up and gently placing it on the mare`s back. And that was when the mare viciously kicked with her hind leg.

"Oh, a saddle .. how f*cking awful, eh?"

Sadly, Evy was used to this. Cookie always made such a big deal out of everything. If tacking up took just a minute too long ..

*snap*

"Jeeeessuusss CHRIST horse. Be happy I`m the one taking care of you, I have some tolerance ... if you were at some other stable .. ohgawd I think with this attitude you`d be turned into dog food by now."

*snap*

"... my patience is running a bit low by now too, you know .."

She put the martingale on the mare and went on to tighten the saddle. The mare kicked every now and then, and moved around on the spot, making Evy`s job damn difficult.

"Fuck you."

Finally she decided that the belt was tight enough, and went to the tack room to fetch the bridle and gaiters. She put the bridle on one of the racks close by, and moved to one of Cookie`s front legs, placing the appropriate gaiter around it. And at that second the mare kicked.

"Fuck off with you and your sh*tty attitude."

She moved away to keep her back from being attacked by the mare`s teeth, and tried again, this time holding the mare`s leg and securing the gaiter quickly. She managed. She moved in a large circle towards the other front leg, and secured that gaiter too. Then she took a step back, straightened up and looked the mare in her eyes .. which were looking back at her like they want to see her burn alive.

"You know .. we have to get that bridle on too before we attempt suicide again in the arena .. so what will it be? Damn freaking lot of rebelling or just .. damn lot of rebelling?"

The mare raised her head, her ears still laid back and her leg kicking at the ground every-now-and-then. Evy picked up the bridle, threw the reins quickly around Cookie`s head, moved around and secured them into the martingale. She petted Cookie on the neck, moving towards her head gently ... suddenly she grabbed the mare`s muzzle and pushed a finger between the mare`s teeth, thus, holding the mare`s head down and preventing the mare to snap at her. She quickly raised the bridle with her other hand but she was too late. The mare`s head shot up to the sky, dragging Evy`s hand along. Evy forced the mare to open her mouth and pushed the bit inside. It was a simple, soft, loose-ring bit ... maybe a little too soft for Cookie. The mare gave up then, and lowered her head slightly, just enough for Evy to be able to put the bridle over the mare`s still laid back ears. She tightened the nose band and the throatlatch and took a hold of Cookie`s reins.

"Good girl. Can`t say this isn`t an improvement. Good job. It wasn`t so hard, see?"

The mare looked at her with a glare that literally screamed "DIE!" and followed Evy as she lead her towards the indoor arena. Evy picked up her phone on the way and sent a voice message to all the other staff members: "Hey there guys. I`m bringing Cookie into the indoor jumping arena so make sure it`s empty by the time I get there."

They reached it in a few minutes and sure enough it was empty .. apart from Jesse who always came to help Evy work with Cookie.

"So, how is she?"

"A tiny bit better. We got the bridle on in two minutes today. It used to take two hours. Can you hold her still?" She handed the reins to Jesse, then moved towards the mare`s left side. Cookie snapped towards Jesse, who moved away from those vicious teeth, and in the meantime, Evy climbed into the saddle. As soon as she was up, Cookie`s eyes turned towards her and she started to kick the ground furiously with her legs ..

"Well, here comes the annual bunch of kicks, bucks and rearing."

And so it was.

Bahahahahahaha! Fabulous! :heart: So glad to see that you decided to draw Evy working with a "problem horse." It came out wonderfully! The story had me laughing out loud. :lmao:
