Ice *Bucket* Challenge

Sooooo ... Connor got tagged by Sammy here, to do the Ice Bucket Challenge ...


... and well, he did it XD Involuntarily as it may have been, but not any less fun (for us, of course)

(yes Connor's pose etc. is slightly unrealistic and over-dramatized in comparison
to actual probable development of events - for entertainment purposes)

Me and Mendokusee had a fun little RP that ended up not being so little, so here's the most important
part of it

"This is one of the streams that run all the way down to the lake in the valley," Connor explained and pointed to the stream with one hand, holding back Junior and stopping him with the other. "It's about a 20mins ride away if you feel like going there," he added. "It's kinda cool really, awesome scenery too. If not, we can ride around in the woods some more." He waited for Sam's response, he didn't want to be the one making all the decisions when he had guests around XD

"Hummm... The lake will be great" ^^ Sam smiled and looked at his watch, they would have time to ride back and forth without any problem! "Lead the way Connor ;D"

"Okay then," he replied, and pushed the stallion forward, crossing the stream and continuing down on the path to the lake. It didn't take that long before the forest started to open up slowly and they came upon a small, grassy area, that opened the view to a huge lake. "Well, this is it. I'm going in, Junior loves splashing around, you two can join us." ;D Indeed, he steered the stallion right into the lake, however the animal needed no persuasion, he more or less just jumped into the clear water and started splashing around excitedly with his fronts.

Sam held in a chuckle as he watched the stallion splash around the water. Breezer on the other hand wasn't that impressed and was rather standing just precis at the edge of the cool water. Sam didn't really feel any urge to get her in so soon but remembered something and suppressed a laugh. "Sooo... Connor... have you taken that ALS challenge yet?" It was almost as Breezer stalked up behind Junior at the shallows. What was Sam thinking?

"The ... what?" Connor asked, surprised, sensing a small change in Sam's voice. He turned around slightly on the stallion to look at the pair that accompanied him from DNS, and tried to focus while cool water was splashing all around him from under Junior's hooves. What on earth was Sam talking about?!

Sam smiled... but it wasn't a pleasant smile. "... the ice bucket challenge?" Breezer looked annoyed for having to stand in the water since Junior splashed so much but still obeyed her rider to walk up closer to him.

Connor thought for a while, browsing through his mind for familiar words, and glancing at Sam for possible answers. "No, I don't believe I did ... since .. well ... I don't even know what it is." He raised one of his eyebrows as he finished from bemusement and partly from frustration.

Sam looked at Connor with a 'are you serious' look upon his face but quickly shake his head and strained a smile. "You poor a bucked filled with ice and water over your head and donates money to the researcher for the disease?" He leaned his head to the side with a rather evil smile on. "The one I nominated you for?"

"Hmm .. well I've been a bit busy these past few weeks, it seems it caused me to fail noticing these .. trends." He was confused beyond all measures, but in the back of his mind a small thought started to appear. A small, unpleasant thought about he bucket full of ice water .. well ... water. "Nominated?"

"Oh yes. You see... after you've done the challenge you nominate a bunch of people to do the same, and since its for a better cause I" Sam looked at Connor with a soft smile to his lips but his eyes screamed of the evil plans in hi mind. Could he do it? To Connor? A guy he just met and tarted to befriend? ".. nominate you!"

Connor looked at Sam totally puzzled and bewildered, still not exactly being able to put together all the pieces.. "Okay .. So .. I'm nominated ..?" His voice ended up somewhere between sounding like a statement and like a question.

"Why yes you are" Sam smiled broad at Connor now. "Can we still be friends after?" Sam asked. He really didn't want to come off as some huge jerk all of a sudden just because of a new trend going around the internet.

"Sure... After .. What?" Connor replied, more reluctant now, he sensed something was off about Sam's smile and this.. Challenge .. thing.

Sam just smiled softly, one eyebrow crocked as he looked away. He reached out one arm and just buffed Connor off Junior, it wasn't hard to figure out that he didn't need much strength to make the boy slide of the stallion. "Sorry!!" Sam chuckled. "But its for a good cause ;D"

"What the -HEEEY-" Connor had obviously picked the wrong day to go bareback, and wet Junior's coat wasn't helping his balance either, so before he even realized it he was sliding off over the horse's back, and flew head-first into the ice-cool water. His body shrieked in shock from the sudden cold, yet somehow his reflexes didn't fail, and helped him make his way back to the surface. He breathed in a few deep breaths, the fresh mountain air feeling cold to him even on such a warm day.

"What .. the hell .. " He asked Sam with a trembling voice. He was still in too much shock to feel angry or anything, let alone express that in his tone of voice. He looked up slowly towards Sam and Junior, now the water around him slowly started to feel more bearable.

Sam shrugged his shoulders. "Meeh... though I would help you on the way" he even muffled a laugh. He didn't dare laugh at Connor now. "You know.. that ice bucket challenge just doesn't happen by itself, someone needs to make the first move ;D"

"Yeah riiight .. I can see why." As his shaking started fading away, his tone became a bit more sharp with annoyance. He moved towards Junior, who stood and observed his rider carefully, confused about the sudden dismount and threw himself out of the water and on the horse's back. His expression changed to a bit wittier one, as he turned towards Sam and asked: "So I can nominate anyone to have to suffer the same fate now?" His mind was traveling up towards the castle and the other staff members.

Sam held a troubled smile, he sure didn't want Connor to think he was some random jerk for throwing him in the water all of a sudden xD "Yeah sure! Anyone really!"

"Hmmm..." Connor thought for a moment, still slightly trembling from the cold. He realized now how annoying the wet clothes and shoes feel, and he got the sudden urge to change as quickly as possible. "Well .. it may be a warm day, but these clothes are no fun to wear right now." he said, serious but not holding a grudge or anything. He could only ever hold grudges against his brother. "Do you think we could head back to the castle so I can change before I have to go hand out the prizes? I somehow don't want to lead the awards ceremony like this - dripping wet."

"Hehe sure" Sam smiled warmly at him. He shrugged his shoulders and tugged Breezers rains, leading her out of the water. "Lead the way! .... and Connor?"

Connor lead Junior out of the water and back into the forest, piking the quickest path to the castle. "Huh?"

"No hard feelings?" He smiled troubled. He still was nervous that he had offended Connor.. big time xD

"Eh no. I don't really hold grudges, you know. Which is why you're actually lucky it was me. If you' would have done that to my brother, you'd be soaking wet as well by now, if you'd have done that to Evy .. well, you would have been drowned. Uhh nevermind that " He laughed slightly at his own joke, but tried to correct himself at the end, as he realized it wasn't exactly giving the best impression of DNS. He continued to lead the stallion up to the castle, asking a slightly faster walk from the horse as on the way down, he was eager to change the dripping clothes.
